L-Glutathione + Alpha-Lipoic Acid + Combination

Tablet

This combination of L-glutathione, alpha lipoic acid, green tea extract is an antioxidant combination, which protects the skin from free radicals. Free radicals are the waste product of the body that damages the body cells and tissue by causing various chemical reactions. Free radicals disrupt collagens and elastin fibers that prominently help in maintaining skin texture. This disruption of skin's essential components like collagen cause aging problems like wrinkles formation and premature aging.
This combination prevents the skin problems like wrinkles, dark patches, pigmentation, and blemishes. It also nourishes the skin by enhancing the blood circulation in the body.
L-glutathione and alpha lipoic acid are powerful antioxidant with antiaging properties while green tea extract functions as age suppressing agent that helps to make skin glowing and soft.
L-glutathione, alpha lipoic acid and green tea extract is combined together because of its free radical scavenging property. They all are antioxidants that help in removal of free radicals from the body and help in removing pigmentation leading to healthy, glowing and wrinkle free skin.
Alpha lipoic acid enhances the level of l-glutathione in the body; glutathione is a powerful antioxidant. This alpha lipoic acid and l-glutathione helps in regeneration of antioxidants vitamin C and vitamin E.
Thus in this combination, one component helps other component to achieve therapeutic level for therapeutic effect.

  • L-Glutathione: It is a tripeptide with gamma peptide linkage between the carboxyl group of the glutamate side chain and it is manufactured in the liver by amino acids Cysteine, Glutamic acid and Glycine. L-Glutathione is one of the major sulfur containing compound in the human body. It is a powerful antioxidant. It also has anti-aging properties and breaks down oxidized fats. L- glutathione in its reduced form is a major antioxidant and detoxifier. It is involve in various liver detoxification process.
  • Alpha-Lipoic Acid:Alpha lipoic acid is a coenzyme that is a very potent antioxidant. It is sometimes called the "universal" antioxidant, holds the capacity to neutralize the effects of free radicals in both fatty and water-based environment. It attacks free radicals, Free radical damages the body tissue by cause various chemical reactions. Alpha lipoic acid also raises the level of glutathione in the body. It helps to convert glucose into energy.
  • Green Tea Extract: Green tea extract is a derivative from the plant camellia sinesis, contains antioxidants of which the major category is catechin called epigallocatechin-3-gallate (EGCG). It increases the metabolism rate, causing detoxification of the body. It nourishes the skin by enhancing the blood circulation.
  • Vitamin C: Vitamin C keeps skin well-toned. Vitamin C is the one that protects the skin against aging and sagging. With age, more vitamin C is essential to maintain elasticity. Free radicals disrupt collagens and elastin fibers that prominently help in maintaining skin texture. This disruption of skin essential components like collagen cause aging problems like wrinkles formation and premature aging. Vitamin C protects skin texture from getting damage.
  • Vitamin E: It restores moisture to skin and slows the aging of the skin cells. It is rich in antioxidants that protect the skin from free radicals.

    Mechanism

Glutathione is a major endogenous antioxidant produced by the cells, participating directly in the neutralization of free radicals and reactive oxygen compounds, as well as maintains exogenous antioxidants such as vitamins C and E in their active form.
Glutathione inhibits the melanin synthesis in reaction by inhibiting tyrosinase enzyme; leads to decrease in pigmentation.
ALA has the ability to chelate metals and to scavenge free radicals. It helps slow down the process of aging by improving blood flow and enhancing immune function, as well as positively affecting several other factors involved in aging.

    Pharmacokinetics

    • L-Glutathione: Limited oral absorption; enhanced by Alpha-Lipoic Acid.
    • Alpha-Lipoic Acid: Rapid absorption; half-life ~30 min; regenerates antioxidants.
    • Pycnogenol: Polyphenols absorbed; distributed to connective tissue.
    • Green Tea Extract: Catechins absorbed; half-life ~3–5 hours.
    • Grape Seed Extract: Procyanidins absorbed; half-life ~6–8 hours.
    • Vitamin E: Fat-soluble; stored in adipose tissue; half-life days–weeks.
    • L-Arginine: Rapid absorption; converted to nitric oxide; half-life ~1–2 hours.
